Our journey around the world

Aloha Hawaii - Mahalo

Our farewell from paradise now already dates back a few days. This is a good occasion to make a conclusion.

Hawaii presented itself to us in very different ways. Each island has its own and beautiful nature and picturesque landscape. Hawai’i (Big Island) is characterized by its active volcanoes and the lava fields from passed eruptions. The older sister island Maui (Valley Island) has an even greener landscape and presented here typical sunny weather. The oldest island of the archipelago, Kaua’i (Garden Island), is the one with the most tropical vegetation. All islands have a warm hospitality in common. But we were also over helmed by the culinary variety even in remote villages.

For a long time we thought about which island we like the most. We could not favour of any. The islands are so different. Each of them has its own outstanding qualities. The almost four weeks we had to travel the islands were not enough. There is a lot more to see and the choice of hikes and excursions is nearly unlimited. It’s difficult to compare Australia and Hawaii. After giving the matter considerable thought, we got to a subjective opinion. Australia was really beautiful, but Hawaii was just a bit more beautiful. But what seems to be interesting for us, is that Hawaii appeared less American than Australia.
